A brief history of Hazrat Inayat Khan

Hazrat Inayat Khan was born in Baroda, India, on July 5, 1882, into a family of great musicians. After establishing himself at an early age as a master musician and then working for the revival of interest in the spiritual heritage of Indian music, he received initiation from his Sufi teacher and trained in the four major Indian schools of Sufism: Chishti, Naqshibandi, Qadiri and Suhrawardi.
In 1910 when his training was completed, he left India for the West and lectured extensively in Europe and America.
Hazrat Inayat Khan died on February 5, 1927.
